               Our representative offers a different approach on leadership. Michael Edgar Yan Aglipay, first nominee of the Democratic Independent Workers Association Party-list was born on sept 21, 1977 at Mandaluyong City to former Philippine National Police Director General Edgar Batalla Aglipay and Mrs. Marinette Yan Aglipay, daughter of Former Ambassador to the United Kingdom and Chief-of-Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, General Manuel T. Yan. Michael has been trained both as an economist, educator, and entrepreneur. He graduated in 1998 with a double degree on Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Bachelor of Science in Commerce from De La Salle University – Manila.

 

                 Michael, no stranger to leadership and service was a student council representative in the College of Liberal Arts and served as a Batch President, under the Alyansang Tapat sa Lasalista Political party. In 2003, he earned his Masters in Science degree in Economics in the DLSU graduate studies program. He was later on employed as a bank officer at the Bank of the Philippine Islands and after, taught as a professor of Economics in his alma mater, De La Salle University. Being a learned economist, with a natural talent in entrepreneurship, Michael now successfully leads in various industries in business, security, hotel and restaurant, and real estate as president of numerous companies namely: Emme Subic Transport Corporation, Emme Group of Companies, Secured Logistics, Aglipay Security Group, Maxihome Land and Development Inc., and Maxx Hotel Philippines Corporation. A devoted husband to Mrs. Ginger Rosales-Aglipay and a loving father to three talented and exceptional kids: Miguel, Mika, and Max. Michael is passionate and driven to lead the Democratic Independent Workers Association to fight for workers’ rights and promote workers’ welfare thru his advocacy on labor rights, social justice, public health, livelihood, and anti-corruption.
